We travelled to Italy in the summer of 2009 and decided two split our two weeks up between Umbria and Tuscany which turned out to be really great. Our first week we booked Villa Subtilia at the Antognolla Golf Course close to the towns of Pierantonio and Umbertide in Umbria and couldn't have wished for more. We were the very first guests that stayed at the villa, as it had just been completed. If you are looking for a very luxurious retreat, on a golf course, with spectacular views, infinity pool with Jacuzzi and in close proximity of small Umbrian villages and towns than this is the place to be. We rented the villa exclusively and that is definitely the way to go. Perfect for a group of friends or a couple of families travelling together. You will all have your own apartment so giving you plenty of privacy, but at the same time give you the opportunity to enjoy the exclusive use of the vast outdoor areas and spectacular infinity pool overlooking the castle and golf course the house offers. We stayed here with our three year old daughter and it is very suitable for little ones with lots of outdoor space for them to play and comfortable amenities in the house. All rooms have their own bathrooms and the interiors are very tasteful and of great quality. Make sure to make use of the breakfast service. The team will come to the house every morning and prepare breakfast for you and will clean up afterwards giving you all the time to relax and enjoy! This was the best! We also enjoyed daily housekeeping which was a real treat. The golf course gives 50% discount to tenants at the house which is great. It is a beautiful course, fairly challenging and it was very quiet when we were there so we could pick our tee times most days. There are some great local eateries close by and Perugia is just a 15-20 minute drive away and well worth a visit. The owners have provide you with a very useful welcome pack with recommendations for restaurants and shopping and we tried and tested most of them and were delighted with the food and hospitality we found. Also make sure to eat the golf club's restaurant, the food is amazing and the hospitality very warm. The team (Anne and Mimosa) are fantastic and will do everything for you and they really made us feel at home. If you are looking for a large, luxurious, high quality, comfortable and relaxed private villa for rent, this is the one. Make sure to rent a car thought, it is a must to get around.
